Conference 2018
Collaboratively engaging with trauma and dissociation
8th - 10th June

20 hours of CPD
One beautiful weekend of networking, growth and learning
Reflections of the weekend...
Well, the tag conference came and went, but it's certainly one we will remember. We feel very proud to have succeeded in creating a wonderful weekend of networking, learning and collaboration. We were overjoyed to see so many new faces, eager to learn and keen to understand. It was also wonderful to see those of you who have been working in the field of trauma and dissociation for many decades, exceptional pioneers who's hard work, passion and dedication have created the opportunities that are now available and must continue to be built upon.
The Hayes Conference Centre did us proud once again, much of it seemed improved and the staff and their services were superb. The added delight of mindful walks around peaceful lakes, the blossoming of beautifully kept gardens and of course the glorious start to our British summer all somehow reflected both the warmth and the depth of this exceptional weekend.

We did slow down, pause and breathe and all in all thoroughly enjoyed a weekend that was both mindful yet packed full of learning.

We are so grateful to all of you who were able to join us!
Here's a few reflections about the conference from our lovely Chairperson Tanya Orr...
What did other people have to say....?

I've just returned from the TAG conference 2018, and I'd like to thank Place2Be for making it possible for me to attend. It was a whirlwind of a weekend with a combination of fascinating presentations and workshops, great opportunities to chat with other counsellors and a variety of mental-health professionals as well as experts by experience, and not forgetting to mention a stunning location in the Derbyshire countryside. The two main speakers, Suzette Boon and Renée Marks introduced us to the characteristics of trauma and dissociation and shared with us the fruits of their respective long and in-depth experience working therapeutically with traumatised and dissociative clients of all ages. I felt inspired by their dedication and infectious excitement about what can be achieved, and leave the conference more prepared to notice and understand issues that might appear in my own client work. On top of this, the workshops added further insight to a variety of therapeutic approaches to trauma, and the opportunities to socialise and network has increased my awareness of the resources and opportunities available in the counselling world.

Collaboration
A big thank you to Melanie Goodwin, Kathryn Livingston, Sandra Buck and Mike Lloyd from FPP, RAINS and ESTD-UK. All of whom attended the weekend and joined our Chair Tanya Orr on Friday evening to form an informal panel to update and share information. Their knowledge, wisdom and dedication are a constant reminder of how much wonderful work has been done and an interesting and inspiring insight into how much work remains.
